Welcome to La Grange

La Grange du Pigeonnier at night

After years of dreaming, months of renovations, and countless decisions about stone, beams, and tiles, La Grange du Pigeonnier is finally ready to welcome guests. We couldn't be more excited to share this special place with you.

What started as a forgotten barn has become our family's passion project — a place where our children run between the pool and the garden, where long summer lunches stretch into the evening, and where the pace of life finally slows down.

We hope you'll feel as at home here as we do. This blog will be our way of sharing tips, favourite spots, and little moments from life at the Grange. Welcome!

The Lavender is Blooming

Lavender field near the house

Every summer, the field next to the house transforms into a sea of purple. The lavender has bloomed, filling the air with that unmistakable scent of Provence — except we're in the Charente, where it feels like our own little secret.

The children love running through the rows in the early evening when the light turns golden. It's become one of our favourite summer rituals.

Harvest Season in Cognac Country

Vineyards around the house The pool in autumn light

September brings the vendanges — the grape harvest that will eventually become Cognac. The vineyards around the house come alive with activity, and there's an excitement in the air.

It's a wonderful time to visit: the summer crowds have gone, the light is softer, and the local restaurants are serving the season's best. The pool is still warm enough for afternoon swims, but evenings call for the fireplace.

If you're curious about how Cognac is made, this is the time to see it happen. Many of the smaller producers welcome visitors during harvest — just ask us for introductions.
